Why do some people on AB who answer questions think that they know it all? Some think that thier word is gold, however there responses still remain just their opinion not fact!

I wonder how many "mind readers" know what other users are thinking don't really know at all. Are you saying you can actually read other people's minds, or do you just think you know what they are thinking? Speaking for myself, as a person who answers as many questions as I possibly can, I know that I don't know "everything" but I certainly do have an opinion on many, many subjects, and I am not afraid to say so. I wonder if you would choose to believe you know what I think, based on that?

Some people on AB like to feed off of their own egos. They may feel less than adequate in their real world situations where they are required to make split second decisions that don't always work favorably for those who are around them. In here, they can present pristine messages with research that supports what they are saying but they must also realize that others can do likewise. When I see people trying to show others how smart they are, I just try to humor them to come down off of their cloud. It should never get so serious in here because we have to remind ourselves that AB is only a web site. It doesn't put bread on our tables.

Because the world is made up of many people and all of them are different. These people are good, they allow us to recognise those who are giving their honest opinions based on their own experiences and realise they don't know it all. It is like being sad helps us to recognise what happy is as we have something to compare it to. So just think of these people as performing a yucky but necessary purpose. Plus don't forget, you don't have to listen to them.
