  • Extremely, i know i whine alot, but ironically, i don't like people feeling sorry for me.
  • I don't like sympathy!!! If i have a problem I want help... or leave me alone and let me deal with it on my own!!! Don't feel bad, do something about it!!!
  • Sometimes actually yeah! Good question! But normally it's not uncomfortable, it's more not quite sure how to respond to it, besides like, you know the classic "Thanks".
  • Yes, pity does make me feel that way.
  • Yes it just makes me feel worse.
  • Nope... Not my problem.
  • Interesting question. Guess my answer depends a lot on that "feel bad for you" part and what it really means. If something hard or bad or sad or terrible has happened and someone feels badly about what I'm currently going through .. that's great if it's in an empathetic sort of way. Wouldn't feel great if they didn't recognize anything untoward had happened! lol However, if it "crossed the line" (my definition on that, I guess) into pity? Nope. Implies and us and them .. higher and lower .. just "not ok" dynamic. Even sympathy is better than pity. For example, if there's been a death and someone expresses their sympathy. To me, that's a courtesy and I just thank you. We're all trying to work our way through those sorts of things. If there's any sense of "judgement" .. ie .. "I feel sorry for you" but it's dripping with sarcasm? Well, that's a whole different kettle of fish! Forget feeling uncomfortable .. that's cause to get out of Dodge and not associate with folks like that. Per usual - lots of ways to look at something. But I'll go with the no, not uncomfortable .. if it's a genuine, helpful, supportive "acknowledgement" of a life situation. And .. it doesn't dwell there. It implies that anyone who can be empathetic (a huge deal, IMO) .. would also be the type to MOVE ALONG to all the other bits of humanity as well. So there's balance .. and dignity .. and for all we know .. a pendulum swing in the opposite direction .. you for them .. next week or year or decade. Interesting question. Thanks.
  • yea it sure does !! :(
  • Yes, I do not need a sympathy face. I need someone to make me laugh.
