Why, in cartoons of yesteryear, did cats always seem to be the victims? They always came out on the short end no matter if it was from dogs, mice or birds. Think of Sylvester, Tom (of Tom and Jerry) and Mr. Jinx.

Wow, you're right. I think it's because A) Cats both chase things and have things that can chase them, so it makes for a more interesting cartoon, and B) I've also noticed that many people don't like cats. -
