  • The risk from metal in your clothes is absolutely negligible. There is much more metal in the environment in most places. The main thing you could do is not to stand tall in a thunderstorm. Lightning tends to strike the tallest conductor, and being basically a bag of salty water, you are a good conductor. You are probably in more danger from your chains getting caught in machinery.
  • Unless you're in the middle of a field or about 46 feet tall, you should be OK.
