  • I never even noticed... Im too narcissistic for that.
  • I'm new here, but I guess its because if you are going to take the time and answer someone, you want to know who it is...
  • It's because it's confusing and sometimes you'll be responding to one person and then another anonymous person will get mad at you because they assume you're talking to them. If you are going to stay awhile, why not pick any name and use that? It's not like anyone will figure out who you are. We are all anonymous unless someone directly knows us, no matter what name you choose. Staying anonymous makes it feel like you are deliberately standing off from everyone else, not any part of the community here. So many people here treat ones like that in such a way.
  • Then why do they offer this option? I just signed up so I didn't know any better, but now I do. I'll go change it if I can figure out how.
  • they think we are here to cause shit. no such luck
  • I wasn't aware they do. I could care less what name you choose, or don't choose for that matter. I guess it might bother some people because it is hard to differentiate when there are so many of you! The internet itself is anonymous so you could pick any name in the world and no one would know it's you. You don't have to post images of yourself or give any identifiable information so...
  • It is not the users we don't like, but rather the name 'Anonymous'. Users can remain as anonymous as they like with a self ascribed screen name. Under that name they may share only what they wish and no more. I like to develop a relationship of sorts with the people I communicate with on a regular basis. There are way too many users named 'Anonymous' for that to work. Departing users also change to that name frequently to obliterate their associated history. I want to know with whom I converse.
  • Well, personally I don't dislike anonymous users. But I think some people don't like them because it's hard to distinguish them from the so many anonymous users on Answerbag. You see, most people here love interacting with the other users. It's quite difficult to sustain good conversations with users named Anonymous. It's confusing!
  • You dont have to change your account just edit your name in your profile and you dont lose any points :o)
  • Because there are so many of them. They also don't really DO anything on ab.
  • I don't think everyone dislikes anonymous users. I think it's the women. They're too stupid, insecure, and conservative to accept anonymous users. Websites are becoming predominantly female.
