Changing your eating habits are more important than crash dieting. It is harder on your body to shed a bunch of weight and gain it back then to slowly take off weight by learning to eat better and exercise. Diets are not a game. You are playing with your life. Learn to eat responsibly which can involve the occasional indulgence from time to time.

I lost 25 pounds indulging on the weekends only. Good luck!!

when you go on a diet your body will slow down, the "junk food" day will probably end up adding pounds because your body wont be burning as many calories. but you can reward yourself from time to time.

It would depend on what "a lot of junk food" is. If you mean you eat some extras on one day of the week, but for the most part eat a healthy diet, you should be fine. If you mean you eat an entire large pizza, a bag of chips, box of cookies...one day of every week, it will probably hurt you in the end. It takes 3500 calories to gain a pound, so as long as you watch your weekly calories, one day won't do much damage. For example, if you want to consume about 1500 calories a day but want a cheat day, you could eat 1400 calories every day but the cheat day and have 600 extra calories to add that day.

the only thing that matters in losing weight is calories in-calories out... you could eat only junk food and still lose weight
