  • Take her Temperature... It is MUCH easier to estimate labor from the temperature. Her temp will drop 12-24 hours before labor begins. Another way to tell if she is within 24 hours is if she refuses to eat. The yellow mucus that you are seeing is the mucus plug, it starts 1-3 days before labor (1-3 days is a much larger variation than 12-24 hours, that is why I suggest using temperature), keep your eyes on her and make sure she has a whelping box (trust me your female will snuggle right in and will relax if you give her a whelping box with a blanket or 2 that you don't care about) Good Luck with your new arrivals!
