  • you always have the right to defend yourself.
  • NO!!! Its fantastic, youve finally learnt to say NO!!
  • You have the right to say no. These people are NOT your friends. But there was no reason to get angry. Simply tell them that you are neither their chauffeur nor their banker, and find a better class of friends.
  • Good for you. You were just standing up for yourself. You should feel proud.
  • You got the full rights to say "No". And its is your friend's responsibility to understand it in the right way. If she feels bad or hated b'cos of you "No", Then it means that she has no real understanding of you. :)
  • Took ya long enough. You don't owe anyone, even a "friend," anything. Don't ever co-sign for a loan if you don't want to end up paying for it, and don't be anyone's doormat. If you don't want to do something, you have EVERY RIGHT to say no, no matter what it is or who is asking. Kindness and helpfulness are at your discretion, not at someone else's demand.
  • Of course you were right. NEVER co-sign a loan unless you have absolute trust in your co-signer and you have the means to make good on the loan if the co-signer defaults. You don't need those people in your life. Leave them.
  • real friends do not use you like that. Had you signed for a loan they would have not paid it and then would have had to. It's not your fault, they have bad credit. they have apparently made bad choices. do not feel bad for standing up for yourself. The more you do for some people, the more they expect. I had neighbors like that. first it's borrow toilet paper, then it's borrow milk (and not just a little..they were telling me how much to give them), then i was being ordered to take them to town. People have to stand on their own 2 feet. She is not your child. you do not need to take care of her.
  • Ditto to all the other answers. Good choice!
  • So how long did it take you to figure out they were using you? What did they do for you in return? Oh..a one-way street was it? Well, one-way streets are no good. Glad you finally figured it out and put your foot down. So next time you'll be more cautious? Then maybe it was worth learning that lesson! :) ((hugs))
