what about those little things that come with meat, cheese, crackers, juice and dessert (don't know what they are called).. most every classroom has a refrigerator and even if they are left out for 2-3 hours they won't ruin. Peanut Butter and crackers, weenies and beans

Salads, chips and salsa, Cornish Beef Pasties, Plowman's lunch, fruit and cottage cheese, thermos of hot soup, fruit, burritos, hoppin john, apple pie, cornbread and molasses, guacamole....

I'm mean, I'd make them sandwhiches anyway. I was a fan of lunchables as a kid, like scrappys mom suggested. They even have a lunchables jr, since I read you mention they were in kindergarden. Also, You could give them whatever you ate for dinner last night. Leftovers are best eaten for lunch at school.

Tortilla with cheese (melted), spring roll, hearty soup in a thermos, snackables, slices of meat and cheese... or if you want them to be less fussy & beg for sandwiches again, pack fresh raw veggies, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and green beans -with no dip or dressing.
