  • They can still hatch, you MUST get them all out with the lice comb. When my sons school had an outbreak last year, my neighbor told me to put olive oil all over his head (saturate it) then cover hair tightly with plastic wrap, leave it on for about 45 min. to an hour. This sufficates nits and lice, and it makes everything come out easier, we had treated him twice and couldn't get rid of it, after I did the olive oil, he never had it again. Good Luck!!
  • My granddaughter was infested every time she came for a visit, so I called the local pediatrician to see what the best treatment was. The OTC stuff just did not do the job. She said Vaseline would not only kill the bugs, but the nits as well. I slathered her hair with it and left it all day. The only problem was getting it out. I tried EVERYTHING, even Dawn dishwashing liquid. I finally happened on a product called DeSolve It. Took it right out and left her hair soft, shiny and smelling like oranges..no more lice problems either.
