Your account can't be deleted by the staff EVER. You can be in the Penalty Box, but its temporary. (time can range from one day to years) Other people can still see your profile though. AB doesn't delete accounts for anyone or for any reason.

If you want your account deleted, go to your profile, then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "feedback", then scroll down to the comments box and type in the reason you want your account deleted. Be sure to check the box for an answer.

hm.. quite a lot if you want to go the hard way. But perhaps the staff could be persuaded to lock it down permanently. I don't think they would delete your posts, however, they are a part of the site. Why do you want it to be deleted?

They won't delete it, but they'll PB it, at least that's what Rich told me.

Just sign out and do not sign in again that is chaos enough. Lets face it if you do not come back you will not know any different.

They don't nuke accounts of people that are real contributing members. The only accounts they nuke or delete are spammers and they get rid of all their answers for good and their questions are rejected. For regular members the best they can do is Ban you from the sight, but you can always come back as someone new so it's pretty meaningless. But it doesn't change your questions or answers being active. When you joined you agreed to 'give' whatever you wrote as database contents and thus it remains here for them to do as they wish. But you still retain the right to "edit" your answers as long as you are a member. If you get banned, you will not be able to do that. Why not just change your name to Anonymous, and I hate to tell you this, but people will forget you and will stop associating your questions or answer with you and unless someone has met you in person, they just don't know you or care one way or another. Sorry, but people just don't care about Anonymous people. You just become unimportant. So you can raise as much Chaos as you wish but it will not remove your content. And all it will accomplish is your account becoming off limits to you and will definitely stay put.

There are no other sites I know of where one cannot simply close one's account. I feel like I am being held hostage.

Oooooh, that's an easy one! Go up against the loving Christians. You'd be deleted in less than an hour
