NO! Not in a million years!!
-
What's up with this question, my dear?
-
What kind of a question is that?
-
No! But I bet you're gonna tell us it's been done in some backward part of the world, right? I've heard worse stories, coming from some of those regions we seem to be having so much trouble from lately....
-
Never! I'd kill him!!!! Evil bloody b*stard!!!

Having followed the link to the question about this tract, I must admit I don't know what this tract is. Was it on the news or something? Maybe US, not UK? Anyway, I personally am a staunch Atheist. That is that, I would prefer it if people did not try and forcibly convert me by sayingI'm wrong. It's even worse when you say to them, "no, I don't beleive in God" and they shake their head as if pitying you, because I'm not going upstairs when I die. I don't have a problem with Christians as a rule but I must say that I would be shocked if someone today followed this law, it's sick and inhumane. I can only hope that like in many historical documents there was a mistranslation into English, r.e. this law.

Absolutely not. She has already suffered at the hands of this man and prolonging her suffering would be an injustice (religious or not) on my part. The welfare of my child is much more precious to me than entering into the gates, and therefore I guess I would suffer the sin and not her. Either way, present or past, whether this has happened or not is a cruelty to humanity. At least that's how I feel about it.
-
NO!!! That man would disappear from the face of the earth and never be heard from again...and if you were thinking about doing so you are a horrible man
-
I would never, and I don't consider any philosophy/law under which such a thing is expected to be ethical or righteous.
-
No, I would not. You are correct in saying that the idea for this question is in the Bible. But that was in the Law of Moses. When Jesus Christ was born, we are no longer under the Law of Moses. This from a search engine explains it better than I ever could. THE NEW LIVES IN OUR HEART We'll now take a look at the NEW Covenant of Grace and love. Jesus teaches us that we are saved by Grace, a GIFT of God, which none can earn by works. The New Testament also has 5 books - called the Gospels + Acts - which mean GOOD NEWS - I like to call it the Transition from LAW to GRACE, or Christ's Law of Love written in our hearts. Today, there is no law or works for salvation - you simply believe in Jesus by faith, living it (faith) every day and then it is ratified. Since Christ has come we are no longer under the tutor of the old covenant - and the High Priest that resides in our Holy of Holies (Heart) is the Spirit of God Who is also the High Priest, Jesus Christ, Who was sacrificed on our altar for the gift of salvation. The Epistles (letters), written by the Apostles, inspired through the Holy Spirit, tell us how to "walk the walk" and live our lives daily in the Christian way - instructions directly from the Lord (given by the Holy Spirit) that are TO US and ABOUT US. Every answer to life is given us in the New Testament - and it's free. The Holy Spirit is our guide and teacher, and no one could possibly understand the truth without the Holy Spirit, for it is He, given by our heavenly Father, Who was sent to guide us, if you would only ask Him - "...how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" (Luke 11:13). You don't need a holy man, some special guru, or the pope to teach you, because all they will do is teach you falsely and lead you to hell. The Old Testament is gone .. past .. waxed old .. of no value for man's salvation and has been fulfilled in Christ. We have been set free from ALL the rules and laws we read earlier - knowing that the sacrifices of the Law were insufficient - we have had the yoke removed by Jesus through His saving Grace. Now, if any choose the law, the world, the flesh, and the carnal ways - then the Lake of Fire is their destiny. In Grace we are born again, free, no bondage and with Jesus forever. You choose, it's your choice! People, truly it is much easier to live under His gift of Grace (the Lord's Way) than by the Law - for the Lord's way is the ONLY way and it's free - just repent and follow the teachings of Jesus by His Spirit and He will guide you always. Have faith, my friends, believe in your heart and you will know that there is no other way. For, if you choose Jesus, your way is clear - your sins have been covered when you repent. Why would you ever think of going with Satan? He is a loser, a thief, evil and lost. Live the Old Testament way and you are LOST to hell forever - Live the New Testament way and you are FOUND with Christ eternally in heaven! The Lord Jesus has said: "...No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." - Luke 9:62. The Old Covenant is looking back, but the New Covenant is for us today to accept and live Christ and look forward to being with Him forever. Remember, without Jesus there is no forward, just death and pain. Jesus is the New Covenant - easy - free. Satan is of the Old Testament way - sin and works, a yoke, bondage. Jesus is the ONLY WAY. Keep in mind, the Old Testament saves NO one - it is of no spiritual value toward ones salvation. The New Testament is the only way to salvation. Remember, the copy of the Old Testament (Hebrew) was written by unsaved Jews (Scribes) around 100 AD, and they wrote from corrupt manuscripts and when they had no originals, they added their own thoughts as to dates, times or events. They did not use facts, and it was not the Word of the Lord and can't be proved as the New Testament is. The Holy Spirit did not guide the Jews as the Apostles were in the New Testament. We still have copies of the Greek New Testament with us, you only need the New Covenant for salvation - it's our contract, our promise with the Lord. Salvation is simple and if you read and use common sense and the Holy Spirit you can't miss. Religion has made it hard with all their copies saying it's easy to read, but it's heresay and changed where it's not the truth. Study to show yourself approved, trust the Holy Spirit, He shall guide you, have faith. If all would understand that the Old Covenant has no value, and that it is complete and fulfilled, having no spiritual growth in it, then all would desire to remain in Grace because it's the Lord's way. And, if the Creator intended the LAW for salvation, He would not have needed to send His Son. The law would have saved us, but it doesn't, in fact He fulfilled the law, it vanished and was taken in the ARK and carried into heaven - "And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament....(Rev. 11:19). The LAW is knowledge of SIN and DEATH! GRACE OF JESUS is FREE and ETERNAL LIFE! Which one is better? Which one will you choose? The Law or Jesus? It's all up to you! Choose Jesus and you live with Him eternally, choose the law and you die in slavery to your sin. If you could only understand this one thing - LOVE containeth the whole law - in LOVE the fulfilling of the law was met ("...for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law, For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly conprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law." - Romans 13:8-10) And Romans 13:14 - "But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof." And these are the commandments of Jesus Christ, the authoritive declaration of the Son of God, given us in His Word, under the New Covenant - "....That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us." - I John 3:23-24 - "...There is none other commandment greater than these." - Mark 12:31 All scripture based on the King James Authorized Version or 1611 Bible, New Testament only, otherwise known as The Word. All Old Testament scriptural references used in this article is Jewish History, not canonical, and is used as additional references.

I would pay someone 50 silver pieces to kill him.
-
What a stupid question. As if, if anything i would kill the rapist.
-
No, I would have most likely done what Simeon & Levi did by trying to avenge the rape of their sister Dinah.

Reading the last part of Deuteronomy 28, I think you have to give Moses the benefit of the doubt. Forcible rape by an anonymous stranger is covered earlier and punished with the death penalty. When we read that he "happened to meet," that sounds like a chance encounter--but why didn't she scream? (Places where it wouldn't do any good were covered.) Some experience from learning the Russian language gave me a different take on this law, because in Russian you "date" documents, not girls; you "meet" girls. The proper interpretation of this law concerns date rape; that if he couldn't restrain himself, there would be a shotgun wedding regardless of whether a pregnancy ensued, and he'd have to pay a hefty bride price, more than six months' wages.

Having been raped myself, I would never put my daughter through more trauma. I'm not doubting that what you've asked is in the Bible, but may I ask to what verse(s) you are referring to. I am having trouble finding it. Thanks.

no, i'd kill the fuckstick. anyway that's a really horrid question.

This is a good question. Are you referring to questioning the God of the Bible’s judgment and fairness? Rape is a very serious crime indeed. Since we asked this question, let us examine it with more than emotion. Let us use reason. At Exodus 22:16, 17 and Deuteronomy 22:28, 29, we find this law, which some have claimed seems unsympathetic toward women. Actually, it encouraged a high moral standard for both men and women. Deuteronomy chapter 22 presented various domestic laws. For instance, it dealt with the situation of a man who no longer loved his wife and claimed that she had not been a virgin. It also presented God’s laws about adultery and rape. Then we read: “In case a man finds a girl, a virgin who has not been engaged, and he actually seizes her and lies down with her, and they have been found out, the man who lay down with her must also give the girl’s father fifty silver shekels, and she will become his wife due to the fact that he humiliated her. He will not be allowed to divorce her all his days.”—Deuteronomy 22:28, 29. What kind of a situation is being discussed here? Remember to keep in mind the culture of the Middle East some 3,500 years ago, not confusion it with Western culture of the 21st century, which even as we speak, is changing. This was a case of pressured seduction and/or fornication. If an unscrupulous man felt at liberty to have sex relations with a virgin, she would be the primary loser. Besides the possibility that she might have an illegitimate child, her value as a bride was diminished, for many Israelites might not want to marry her once she was no longer a virgin. What, though, would discourage a man from taking liberties with a virgin? God’s “holy and righteous and good” Law would.—Romans 7:12. The Mosaic code had a provision allowing a man to divorce his wife for certain reasons. ( See Deuteronomy 22:13-19; 24:1; Matthew 19:7, 8) But what we read at Exodus 22:16, 17 and Deuteronomy 22:28, 29 shows that the option of divorce disappeared after premarital fornication. This, then, might cause a man (or a virgin woman) to resist a temptation to share in fornication. A man could not feel, ‘She is pretty and exciting, so I’ll have a good time with her even though she is not the sort I’d like to marry.’ Rather, this law would deter immorality by causing any would-be offender to weigh the long-term consequences of fornication—having to stay with the other party throughout his life. The Law also lessened the problem of illegitimacy. God decreed: “No illegitimate son may come into the congregation of Jehovah.” (Deuteronomy 23:2) So if a man who seduced a virgin had to marry her, their fornication would not result in an illegitimate offspring among the Israelites. Granted, Christians live in a social setting that is different from that of the ancient Israelites. We are not under the decrees of the Mosaic Law, including this law requiring the marriage of two persons who engaged in such fornication. Nonetheless, we cannot feel that engaging in premarital fornication is an insignificant thing. Christians should give serious thought to long-term consequences, even as this law moved the Israelites to do so. Seducing an unmarried person ruins that one’s right to enter a Christian marriage as a clean virgin (male or female). Premarital fornication also affects the rights of any person who might become the individual’s mate, namely, that individual’s right to marry a chaste Christian. Most of all, fornication must be avoided because God says that it is wrong; it is a sin. The apostle aptly wrote: “This is what God wills, the sanctifying of you, that you abstain from fornication.”—1 Thessalonians 4:3-6; Hebrews 13:4. Source: All of the scriptures cited. Please look them up in your own copy of the Bible. Additional material from the November 15th, 1989 Watchtower, page 31

Are we talking like biblical times, here? Cause rape was cool back then. Less cool now. Though pimping is still cool. Yeah, I'd probably pimp her out. Makes more financial sense.
