  • why indeed? I also wonder why prisons are not run like a business and in it to make money for the state instead of the state having to fund their food, clothes, medical expenses, etc. Why is inmate labor not more readily available to provide services that the state currently pays other to do, i.e. yard maintenance, laundry, janitorial, etc for state agencies? What ever happened to inmates picking up litter beside the road? Oh, yeah, ACLU said it was unconstitutional. But other than that, why can't prisoners be made to earn their keep instead of being boils on the ass of society??
  • I personally think it’s because of the ACLU. Heaven forbid anybody on Earth—including convicted serial murderers—have to suffer with nothing more than basic cable.
