  • That all depends on the sensitivity of the test. the lower the number of sensitivity the better (ex: 20) but most like ept, clear blue, first reponse are about 25 (go to their websites to check). Even the cheapo ones like New CHoice which is $1 at the Dollar Tree is 25. So instead of buying the $20 one, buy the $1 dollar one becuse they are the same provided you use it correctly. Besides, if you want to be pregnant, chances are you'll want to buy a few just to keep seeing the wonderful news! You can take the 25 test up to maybe 5 days before your missed period. I took EPT 4 days before, and got a positive. But I also noticed that it was better for me to shell out a little more, because the line intensity is sometimes crappy. I had to keep turning it, take it outside, i thought i saw the lines, but wasn't sure. Finally i got the digital which spells it out for you. So bottom line, if you use it correctly and follow directions to the t, New Choice ($1) EPT, ClearBlue Easy, and First Reponse ($10-$25)all have the same sensitivity level and will all work equally the same.
  • I almost forgot: It depends on the amount of HGC levels in your body. So if you take it 5 days before your expected period and get weird results, wait a minimum of 2 days because HGC tends to double within about 48 hours. Another reason to buy the $1 tests!
