  • I think you've highlighted one of many apparent contradictions here.
  • This sounds like a job for DR. AHMED DEEDAT!!! . . .
  • I'm no Bible thumper, but this much I know. Jesus and God are not the same entity. Jesus is the son of God, come in human form in order to eventually die for the sins of people. John 3:16 refers to this. I've never heard anyone saying that Jesus IS God, so I can't help you with that part. Some religions, like the Jewish, believe that Jesus was indeed real, but that he was a prophet, not the son of God.
  • Jesus is God because Jesus had 100% of his DNA since God was just renting out Mary's womb.
  • I was raised Baptist and while I do not label myself any religion.. I do believe Jesus IS God. I do not get into the whole christian thing because while people will label my beliefs christian, I think that is a title we all fall short on. He is almighty.. and to understand how He could be in flesh among man, sacrificed yet still be the God over us all.. is to read His word and understand the spirit of God.. that can dwell in us all, anywhere. We see only what is here .. earthly things.. trust me.. I was raised never even thinking God and Jesus were One. .. however, God is everything.. in everything. How can they not be One? The spirit of God dwelled in flesh as the Son to save us.
  • the unsolvable is filled in with the concept of the trinity. Jesus walked with Adam in the Garden of Eden. Jesus is the the voice box and physical representation of The One who has No Physical Body. Jesus certainly became God-Like after he rose from the dead. He as much said that will be our condition after we die. and the Holy Spirit was there in Genesis in the beginning. As he is here now in jesus's absence.
  • Christians have always accepted on the whole, that both are true. He is the Son of God, because He is called that. He is also God, not because He came out and said it bluntly (because He would never have gotten past His first sermon had He done so) but because He has the attributes of God. eg Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my Shepherd John 10: I am the Good Shepherd Deut 32:15; 2 Samuel 22:3; Psalm 18:46 etc God is Israel's and the world's Saviour. Luke 2:11; John 4:42 "Jesus is Israel's and the world's Saviour God is the beginning and the end -Exodus 3 (Yahweh: the I am, the Beginning the End, the Eternal One)cf Revelation 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God; 22:13 (Jesus speaking)I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created....John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." Jesus mostly let His actions convict people> In the Old Testament, it was said that only God could cause the blind to see, the lame to walk, the deaf to hear. Jesus, by doing these things, demonstrated who He was. In the Old Testament, it says that only God can calm the wind and the waves. By doing this, Jesus showed who He was. He forgave sins. In the Old Testament, it says that only God can forgive sins. The Pharisees came to the obvious conclusion when they had the encounter with Him in John 8 It's a long passage, but please read it. It answers the question you asked perfectly. They wanted to know who Jesus was. Jesus spoke to them about not saying anything without witnesses- a foundation of Jewish law- and showed them the witnesses he had- the Father and the Spirit, plus the Old Testament prophecies of His coming. In the final verses, this discussion goes on: 48The Jews answered him, "Aren't we right in saying that you are a Samaritan and demon-possessed?" 49"I am not possessed by a demon," said Jesus, "but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. 50I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. 51I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death." 52At this the Jews exclaimed, "Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that if anyone keeps your word, he will never taste death. 53Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?" 54Jesus replied, "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. 55Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and keep his word. 56Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad." 57"You are not yet fifty years old," the Jews said to him, "and you have seen Abraham!" 58"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" 59At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds. == Look at verse 58. Jesus says "Before Abraham was, I AM." The Pharisees know exactly what He is saying. They pick up stones to stone him for BLASPHEMY:saying He was equal to God. Why because He referred to Himself as the I AM, "Yahweh" of the Old Testament. He didn't say "Before Abraham was, I was/existed". He used the present tense...and it was clear what He was saying.
  • THE Bible calls Jesus the “only-begotten Son” of God. (John 1:14; 3:16, 18; 1 John 4:9) Trinitarians say that since God is eternal, so the Son of God is eternal. But how can a person be a son and at the same time be as old as his father? Trinitarians claim that in the case of Jesus, “only-begotten” is not the same as the dictionary definition of “begetting,” which is “to procreate as the father.” (Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary) They say that in Jesus’ case it means “the sense of unoriginated relationship,” a sort of only son relationship without the begetting. (Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words) Does that sound logical to you? Can a man father a son without begetting him? Furthermore, why does the Bible use the very same Greek word for “only-begotten” (as Vine admits without any explanation) to describe the relationship of Isaac to Abraham? Hebrews 11:17 speaks of Isaac as Abraham’s “only-begotten son.” There can be no question that in Isaac’s case, he was only-begotten in the normal sense, not equal in time or position to his father. The basic Greek word for “only-begotten” used for Jesus and Isaac is mo‧no‧ge‧nes′, from mo′nos, meaning “only,” and gi′no‧mai, a root word meaning “to generate,” “to become (come into being),” states Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance. Hence, mo‧no‧ge‧nes′ is defined as: “Only born, only begotten, i.e. an only child.”—A Greek and English Lexicon of the New Testament, by E. Robinson. The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, edited by Gerhard Kittel, says: “[Mo‧no‧ge‧nes′] means ‘of sole descent,’ i.e., without brothers or sisters.” This book also states that at John 1:18; 3:16, 18; and 1 John 4:9, “the relation of Jesus is not just compared to that of an only child to its father. It is the relation of the only-begotten to the Father.” So Jesus, the only-begotten Son, had a beginning to his life. And Almighty God can rightly be called his Begetter, or Father, in the same sense that an earthly father, like Abraham, begets a son. (Hebrews 11:17) Hence, when the Bible speaks of God as the “Father” of Jesus, it means what it says—that they are two separate individuals. God is the senior. Jesus is the junior—in time, position, power, and knowledge. When one considers that Jesus was not the only spirit son of God created in heaven, it becomes evident why the term “only-begotten Son” was used in his case. Countless other created spirit beings, angels, are also called “sons of God,” in the same sense that Adam was, because their life-force originated with Jehovah God, the Fountain, or Source, of life. (Job 38:7; Psalm 36:9; Luke 3:38) But these were all created through the “only-begotten Son,” who was the only one directly begotten by God.—Colossians 1:15-17.
  • You see
  • VA, Which one of the bibles did you read that in. After all there are over 130 different versions. You have a very closed mind. Someone doesn't agree with you so you think you are wasting your time. How about trying to see someone else's point of view and open your mind a little. A closed mind is like a parachute - it doesn't work! You don't agree with me: big deal. Jesus was a prophet just like Muhammed.
  • for a simple answer. www.mormon.org Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father are two seperate beings, but ONE in purpose. Jesus Christ is the literal son of God, he was sent to earth to do the will of the Father, not his own will
  • some guy who had a nice appeal to a lot of folks then they made up a whole big story about gods and stuff .amazing even today it is believed !by some indoctrinated minds
  • You need to understand two things; 1/ that the gospel of John was written 60-70 years after Jesus supposedly died and was more of a reflection of the author's view of what Christian doctrine should be rather than an account of real events. Statements like those in John 3:16, 1:1-3 etc were not claimed to have come from Jesus but were the author's own opinions. 2/ The 'Trinity' is a completely non-sensical concept devised by the ealy church (and reflected in the gospel of John)to overcome the jewish tradition of there being only one God. The only way they could square up the existence of Jesus and God was to invent the notion that they were really both part of the same being. It's complete rubbish of course but that's what the early church fathers thought was required.
  • He MAY have been a guy who lived 2009 years ago. Everything else is a matter of whether you believe it or not.
  • THANK YOU! Someone who actually uses common sense while reading. Yes, they are TWO DIFFERENT people. Heavenly Father is the Father, and Jesus is the son
