  • If it is only in your browser, it could be your version of flash. Try streaming some music from shoutcast (for example). Otherwise, there might be a conflict occurring between an onboard NIC and sound card? In this case, I'd try updating drivers and/or BIOS and/or trying to force different resources for the sound card (IRQ or whatever)...
  • Could be the quality of the media stream you are receiving. What's the connection speed you're receiving at. Dial up would explain a lot. The other posibility is that if it's flash player media, you may need to update the flash player installed on your laptop. Check the support site for your manufactuer for driver updates as well.
