  • Umm, I got that impression years ago. I suspect that's a big part of why some guys decided to fly some planes into some of our buildings.
  • Idk... I mean, look at the number of reality tv shows out there today. There are many shows that just follow families around as they do day-to-day stuff... and ppl find that entertaining. I mean... reality shows are almost the only shows that are on primetime television and those shows do seem to show fairly everyday people for the most part. If you are referring in any form to soap-operas... well those things are just silly, and they always have been.
  • the majority of the population are regular, everyday people - it's just that they don't make for entertaining TV.
  • Exactly.... It's not only in the USA. I'll give you an example. Hip hop music....grab a mic and make some BS rhymes up and you are a star. Forget about taking a instrument at the age of 6-9 and practicing 8 hours a day until by the time you're 20 or so you are very good. That's about what I did. Another example is Paris Hilton who does what? Yet everything on TV for a long time was all about her. Why? She has no talent and did nothing in the arts. People buy into this because when you are fed crap you get used to it and forget or don't know there is something better. At least the masses do, I never did.
  • Unfortunately thats what sells now, I wish we could go back to the days before when everything was so simple.
  • Of course..that is the purpose of TV. You find actors/actresses, TV anchors, political "pundits"..if they weren't phonies, pretenders and wannabes they would not be on TV. So your barometer is the problem, not us normal people! :)
