Are we fallowing in the footsteps of the great Etheopean Empire, the great Egypt, Babylon the Great, Saddam and Gomorrah, the mighty Roman Empire, etc? Are we then doomed?

I wouldn't venture a guess as to which empire we are following, but I think that whenever a citizenry becomes soft, self-centered, pleasure seeking and dependant, instead of tough, self-sacrificing, responsible, duty oriented and self-reliant they are on the way out. So the question is, can we pull back from the brink or are we riding are Barcoloungers over the edge?

Unless we figure out what kind of country we want, and vote for leaders who will promote and preserve what is important, we are surely doomed. At every turn "they" have undercut, undermined and underserved us..they are our employees..we should have fired them after the first 4 years..we failed miserably and they got another crack at further egregious destruction..wantonly, consistently and to this day! So we the people caused it..twice! Our fate is in our hands..we can't blame anyone for this mess but us..shame on us! :(
