no the batteries are not dead they are new fresh out the pack so what now

Check: Did you have turn off the LCD screen? Maybe you didn't put a memory card in it. or perhaps the memory card has died (which can happen) and if you really want help - respect the helpers. a blinking green light on "a digital camera" is like saying "there is a red light on my car what's wrong?" or "my computer just beeped what gives?" Which camera? make and model
