  • Clove oil is an old trick to get rid of pain but it is certainly not a solution. Around here, Dentists charge less to those of us without insurance than those that do have it.
  • I wish I knew. I have dental insurance but It doesn't get in for 6 months.. Every tooth I have is rotten.. Most days I can't eat anything but soup, pudding, jello, etc.. and some days I can't even get my mouth open to eat that. I have at least 6 teeth that have to be surgically cut out and the surgeons here charge $800 per tooth (right now) for that.. My insurance will pay them for surgical in Aug 2009.. by then it won't matter because infection will have killed me.. There are a couple clinics that pull teeth based on income but my first appt isn't until mid Sept and by then I have a few more that will need to be surgically removed.. At these clinics, you only get an appt every 4-6 months to have 1 at a time pulled.. so I don't know what I am going to do either.. I have medicaid/medicare which will not pay 1 dime of dental but free clinics will NOT see me if I have any kind of health insurance.. whether it pays or not.. sucks doesn't it.. we have to die to get better.. You might check with dental schools or search "low income dental in TN, MO, NE,, wherever" and see what results you get. GL
  • I know that in our area there are dentists that do charity work. My former dentist retired, and now does this part time. I suspect there is help available in your area, but you are not finding it. Check with city/county social workers for assistance in finding help. At one time my family went to the local dental college for free treatment.
  • Anbesol works pretty well for temporary relief.
  • When it comes to teeth dont wait. I did that with an absess and finally went to the dentist, I did not know they work with you with the fee and pay in monthly installments. Well , I ended up loosing my tooth and cried so hard. No I have to get an implant to fill it in and will cost probably more that what I would spend on saving it.
