I was wanting to sell my laptop eventually i use internet banking and other sensitive info which i wouldn't want people to know. Would they be able to get this info off my harddrive when i sold it. I never save passwords or usernames on my computer.

    Your information no matter how sensitive or insensitive has nowhere to go from your hard drive . So yes someone with the knowledge of retrieving your data could do that but....there are several software programs from www.download.com that you can purchase that will preform
    a Government Wipe of your files. A government Wipe is a secure way to delete any sensitive files you have on your hard drive. Or like was answered from other people you could re-format your hard drive and have Window's re-installed. Staples will do it for about $85.-$100. Nortons has a Government wipe on their security software.

    reformat the hd before you sell it, so there is nothing there...if you just delete files instead of overwriting them, they can be recovered...or you could just remove the hd and destroy it...
