I know it's considered almost sacrilegious to put ice cubes in wine...but I do anyway. Do you have an opinion?

I drink red wine mixed with water (half and half) I know this is weird, but I don't care, I like it.

My opinion is this..chances are the wine is not very expensive so I say go ahead. Someone who would buy very expensive, fine wine would never consider putting ice cubes in the wine..it would dilute the wine, change the flavor, viscosity,fragrance and totally ruin it..why spend the big bucks if you want a wine cooler? That's just my opinion, of course. :) Happy Thursday! :)

That's fine if you like. Have red wine with fish if you like. Whoever made all those rules about wine just takes all the funout of it all. The best wine is the one that provides the best buzz, as is the goal of all alcoholic beverages. Going on and on about the nose and aftertaste etc. is just their way of rationalizing wanting to get drunk, but making it sound as if they're actually accomplishing something.

Hubby puts ice cubes and soda in his. If he wants a light cooler he uses 7-up, for a heavier drink, red wine with Coke.

i put ice cubes in my coffee. ice cubes are a great tool. i like room temperature wine. i like sweet red kosher wine. it is a nice dessert wine.
