Just staying alive for one thing, really, after all I've been through. Not abusive parents or deliberate self-abuse like cutting or attempted suicide, but just being on a path to self-destruction, one way or another. But I came out of it and found that learning,living, and loving was far more enjoyable than staying in the darkness of your soul, behind drawn curtains in a haze of purple dreams. I still have dreams, and they're still as crazy as ever they were, but I can see them realised now. I can make them happen. They will happen, they won't just be dreams any more. Pity the fool if all he has is dreams.

Although I don't look and desire being acknowledged, my family, friends and co-workers always seem to recognize me for my integrity and empathy towards others... :-)

I don't really need acknowledgement from others for anything. But the one thing in my life of which I am proud is my son. He is a really good guy! :)
