Did you know that the new fluorescent light bulbs contain mercury and should not be put in landfills because they can poison the water supply? Do you think in a few years we'll all get mercury poisoning because of the the new bulbs breaking in landfills?

You have to remember that the alternative is huge amounts of energy being wasted on inefficient light bulbs. I'm sure it won't be a major problem if they're just disposed of carefully. What about rechargeable batteries, should we stop to use them too? There's tons of VERY dangerous chemicals in those
