Has anyone read the book "The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett?" What did you think of it?

I thought you'd never ask ;-) I *loved* this book--my very favorite Follett! His characters were firmly set in the genre: the wealthy are perfectly self-absorbed & suitably dastardly, the poor are just trying to eke out a living. This is one of my favorite books to buy (used) and pass along to anyone who evinces an interest! Given away at least 12 copies in the past 6-7 years... Pillars is so much better than the recently-released sequel, World without End. Hope you're enjoying the read.
