its more like putting someone into a coma because they can bounce back from it and sometimes be better than ever when they do or sometimes they wont bounce back and then its just terrible

I like that metaphor. It paints a very vivid, disturbing scene, but hey. Abuse kills naivety and optimism, and I say both those concepts reside in the spiritual realm.

Its a form of self-esteem destroying so in a sense you could say spiritual murder because your spirit is your inner-self.

I have never thought of it that way, a part of you does die when abused. Especially if by a loved one.

Yes. Insults can make the spirit feel like it is dying and the body can reflect that pain as well. Once someone I loved insulted me and put me down and made me feel as thought I were worthless. I loved them so much. It never phased them though.

Abuse is a form of spiritual and emotional assault, but I would never consider it equivalent to murder in that same metaphor, because no matter how badly someone has been abused, they usually *Can* recover without "Dying" completely in any sense of the word.

bullies are as dangerous as the father that wont defend you against the violent step father who sexually abuses women because his father let him be bullied. WERE DOES IT STOP

It may be relative in many psychological debates, but extended periods of these exampled forms of abuse can lead to depression and suicide, or social ineptitude, among a lot of other things. Maybe it's not exactly murder, but I find it just as severe. Of course, not much thought is always given to the technicalities of one's emotions. I mean, you still live. Some of those people however, might ask you if you still call it living.

yes it is .. it is a way of killing a person's subconscious self, morale, self esteem, etc..
