NO I don't ever let anything be!!! If it is on my mind then it needs to be taken care of!!! The only time I let it be is when I give up on something!!!

Yes and no. It's too simplistic -- one of those wise-sounding homilies that lulls us into a false sense of understanding. "Let it be" is about making peace with what is, and of course that's important. The folks who are railing on and on in frustration about things that cannot be changed are just making suffering for themselves, and "Let it be" is decent advice for them. But that doesn't mean we should all sit around like passive lumps of goo while evil forces run amuck in the world: if there's a dictator slaughtering a million of his citizens because of their ethnicity, "Let it be" is bad advice. In all things, one must be aware and responsive: to see clearly the essence of what is going on, and to act in concert with balanced and well-founded values. Sometimes that means making peace with what can't be changed, and sometimes it means fighting tooth and nail. Knowing the difference is what wisdom is all about.
