  • The only punishment she should get is the stares from the jury present where the incident occurred.
  • In todays society its never right to hit anyone. its always been illegal for parents to hit their children, but in the old days it was just chalked up to the way it was.
  • No, that's bullshit.
  • I don't think a slap on the butt is abuse, if she was pulling the kids arm and spanking the hell out of the kid, that's a whole new ballgame.
  • A little light swat on the rear end is fine and neccessary sometimes. It should be done on rare occassions though. Outright spanking (the way many of us were spanked growing up) is just plain wrong and the woman should get in trouble for that.
  • Only if it was a wicked spanking. Nothing more that I hate than people stepping in where they don't belong and calling the police on someone simply disciplining their child. Just because you spank your child, does not mean you are abusing them.
  • Probably wrong unless she was beating them (as opposed to a quick swat on the rear) or slapping them around the face. Depends if the child was doing something naughty and/or dangerous or if she just seemed to do it for no apparent reason too. I don't think a few smacks should be any reason for a parent to be arrested when there are others who beat their kids to within an inch of their lives in their own homes and nothing seems to happen to them.
