When we see males getting hit in their private regions on t.v. or in the movies, it's considered funny, but can you imagine the negative response from people if that was done to females in the media? Isn't THAT sexist?

Sexist? Not really. The effect is different for men than for women. I saw a recent episode of King of the Hill where Bobby kicked his mom in the crotch. He had been kicking guys in their crothes all through the show. The emotional response to the different sexes was because the woman was not disabled by this kick. The men were of course. I also think the laughter at this situation is due to how uncomfortable it makes us to see it, or think of how much it hurts. We don't laugh because the situation is funny. It is funny because that is how we react to some discomfort.

Guys are more likely to have hurt themselves in that area by goofing around. Even more rare than seeing a girl being kicked there is seeing a girl being shot there (like in Tromeo and Juliet)
