I had to stop coffee because it was giving me heart palpatations. Basically I just weaned off it. First I cut down to 1 cup a day, then I started mixing decaf in with the regular stuff, then mostly decaf, and now I drink one of those 8oz cans of coke and I'm good to go. Take some Asprin in the morning to help with the headaches, especially when you're just starting out. If you're self-motivated this should work.

Good answer by SalientAlien, also when you have uncontrollable cravings, I've found that having a piece of hard candy in your mouth helps.

First of all, enjoy caffiene before it is made illegal! But if you are truly bothered by this, easing off gradually is your best bet. B complex vitamins are (for me and a lot of my friends) like a long-lasting energy shot. One of my girlfriends had to quit taking them as she couldn't sleep at night! Try the vitamins, and take a good look at your overall diet and sleep. It all makes a difference.

I do the same thing as you! Unfortunately, I end up getting really tired from sprinting around the track later in the day. Yesterday I had just one cup of coffee and a 5 hour energy drink and I almost passed out at the gym! I'm f***ed

if you think its having a bad effect on your health, try cutting it down "gradually". I don't know ifs its an addiction or not, for me its Tea, I need atleast 2 cups of tea a day. I've cut it down a lot, before I used to have tea whenever and wherever I could! BUT there are somedays when I don't have even one cup of tea, so IMO its not an addiction for me.
