  • You're not wrong. The only difference between the two is which parts they want to shred.
  • Now, this question posted isn’t to discuss bush or his policies……this is about Obama and his policies… So…..we all agree that the constitution is VERY important. But isn’t obama just gonna send that document through the shredder the day he gets in…… . Here are my reasons: ……#1…..he is highly against the 2nd amendment and an individual’s right to bear arms………he is basically for an all-out ban on individuals owning guns…… ………………………..well, that kills the 2nd amendment . …….#2………he is in favor of bringing back the so-called “fairness doctirine” or a similar piece of legislation..................for those of you who are unfamiliar with the “fairness doctrine” here is what it is….The Fairness Doctrine was a United States FCC regulation requiring broadcast licensees to present controversial issues of public importance in a manner deemed by the FCC to be honest, equitable, and balanced. The doctrine has since been withdrawn by the FCC, and certain aspects of the doctrine have been questioned by courts…………………………and guess who decided what is “fair” and what is “controvercial” and who is being “unfair”…….the F*king government………..so this would mean if there was a “conservative” radio station that was discussing an issue, they would be FORCED to have the other side get equal time on a PRIVATE BUISSNESS’s raido…..but remember, it is the government deciding who needs to “do this” and what is “fair”……… ………………………..well, that slashes the hell out of the 1st amedment . …..#3,…….obama supports a similar “surveilence” system that is used by much of Europe that puts active cctv camera’s on the streets that we live on and work on.........in the name of “safety”……….. and (as posted in #1) he would be in favor of confiscating all personal firearms…….well, that would require a forced search of people’s houses………… ………………………hmmm, there goes the 6th amendment . #4……………….a combination of these above kills the 10th, and also probably the 9th amendment…….by taking away the people’s rights. . So, obama wants to kill at least ½ of all the rights listed in the bill of rights….....the cornerstone of the constitution……..in effect shredding much of the rest of the constitution . Where am I wrong??? Please, prove me wrong…
  • 1) Correct. 2) Actually, though the fairness doctrine was flawed, the general principle is sound. Or do you want Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and the rest of the 0.001% to run the country while the 99.999% of us merely suffer at their whim? Or are you in favor of propaganda? SIG HEIL! JEWS ARE EVIL! I guess the ability and/or willingness to even acknowledge that any issue HAS more than one side is Liberal, Communist, Terrorist talk. 3) As opposed to our current system of warrantless sneak-and-peek and the legal ability to detain indefinitely without even the burden of proof normally required to obtain a search warrant? Sorry, but that argument doesn't fly, and unless you undo the last seven years, it never will. 4) True, but again, no worse than where we are now. - BTW - As I type, I am leaning towards McCain. Considering that I usually vote Democrat, that should tell you something.
  • You're right. Both parties are controlled by the same corporate interests. The whole political system is theatre. It's about as real as WWF wrestling. Political parties are just different flavors of the same policies. The Bush and Clinton families are such close friends they vacation together! There are just a few decent politicians left, like Ron Paul.
  • The problem I have with Obama (like most democrats) is that he believes the constitution is a "living document" that can be shaped by his court appointees. This school of thought is what leads them to the opinion that the constitution protects abortion (it really doesn't) and that you have no right to bear arms (despite the second amendment saying otherwise). The text of the constitution should mean what it says. Nothing less, nothing more. We cannot preserve our freedoms if the Bill of Rights is vulnerable to the whims of the judiciary. There is no doubt that Obama will appoint justices to the supreme court who share his idealogy and that scares me more than anything. This isn't a ringing endorsement of Bush either. I just find it hilarious when deomcrats and republicans argue over who is the biggest evil. It's the pot calling the kettle black no matter how you look at it.
