  • You can still use gas and air at home and that's all a lot of women need!
  • Do pain relief!! If you go natural you will prolly pass out from the pain!!
  • You are certainly a brave girl. However, there is no standardized chart for pain, but be assured that if you do not have someone to assist you in your childbirth, such as a midwife or a doctor, you will rue the day you didn't. Not knowing your vaginal measurements, nor the size of the head of your baby you could have a very painful birth and even endanger the life of your baby. Depending on the sizes I mentioned you could most likely require an episiotomy; which is an incision of the lower border of the vagina to make room for the passage of the child's head. By the way, any gas you may use also goes to the baby. The baby can also become anesthetized. That's why it's very seldom used during birth. Maybe, Planned parenthood would give you help finding a midwife who would help you give natural childbirth safely.
  • If you are 16 years old, why are you asking a question about your 13 year old daughter?
  • I am expecting my 4th and my easier labor and delivery was a water birth. Definitely less pain in water. My first was not a natural delivery (in hospital with epidural which didn't even work!! :) and the other 2 and hopefully this one will be all natural. You CAN do this naturally and don't let anyone scare you because EVERYONE is different.
  • Kudos to you! I'm scheduled for a waterbirth any day now myself, and I have spoken to MANY women who have had them in the past. I've heard nothing but good things about laboring and birthing in the water. The warm water promotes relaxation and eases strain on the perineum, which drastically cuts down the risk of tearing and the need for an episiotomy (my midwife has NEVER had to cut an episiotomy for a waterbirth).
  • I've had two children. My first one was with epidurals. I had 3, they wore off.. until right before I was about to push.. it took 3.5 hours to push, I was about to have a csection until they used a suction cup on him.. poor baby.. He's 5. My daughter came naturally, no pain meds or anything, and I prefer it naturally.. Labor pain is very painful. That's why it's called labor! 2 hours after having my daughter, I was up and walking. Once that baby it out, it's like a switch, all the pain is gone! I highly recommend you go as natural as you can! Better for you and baby! I've never had a water bath labor, but I heard they are great! I wish you luck!
  • I am 28 and I only have one child, but honey the pain is unbearable. Good Luck on that!
