God that's just awful. Next you'll be telling me not one of them composed an orchestral symphony in their whole life! If the option is Beethoven with prostitutes or no Beethoven at all, I'll swing for the former option. Personally, I think Wagner's morals would be more deserving of attack than Beethoven's.

Well, if that is true, it means he was getting his (rock) from somewhere; while being a great composer at the same time. So what exactly is your point?

He also composed his 9th Symphony while he was totally deaf. This goes for classical artists, 50s beatnick poets, and todays entertainers. Do what you want off stage/camera, nobody cares. Put a good quality of work in what you do, and do whatever you want off the clock. I'll mind my own business, and you mind yours.

Many composers visited prostitutes - and many died from the symptoms of the syphilis they caught from them - including Bach (yes!), Schumann, Smetana, Hugo Wolf and Donizetti. They're only human, you know.
