Most of them listen for a few seconds. They just rarely agree with the explanation.

Because the discussion doesn't concern him. IF the umpire changes the call then I'm sure the opposing manager will be coming out for "a chat". Realistically speaking I would say that a call reversal happens less then 5% of the time after a discussion between an umpire and a manager. Why would you go out to listen to a discussion when you have a 95% chance of it having no impact on the game.
