  • Sure, if he/she has a cleft lip or half his face burnt off in a horrible accident. I'd also concede to a breast reduction if there's a medical reason for it (not likely with my genes). However, boob jobs, nose jobs, or anything of that shallow, cosmetic sort? Heck no.
  • If he or she needed it due to something life threatening.
  • If he or she was living under my roof, the answer would be HELL NO!!!
  • It would depend completely on the nature of the surgery and their reasons for wanting it. I have a friend whose daughter's breasts never developed normally. She always wore loose tops, made excuses not to shower at school in front of the other girls - she felt deformed. She hid it so well that even her mother did not know. When she did finally tell her mother and let her see, my friend arranged for her daughter to have the surgery. It was not to give her huge breasts - she only wanted to look normal. I believe my friend made the right decision.
  • No! Teach your children how to love and accept who they are.
  • Corrective surgery yes, cosmetic surgery no
  • Only if it was a very necessary surgery and it would help them.
  • I have a personal understanding regarding plastic surgery, it is a dangerous procedure thus it is better to take it easy. If a teenager has a very long nose and wants a good surgery, she should wait till 18 when the face has developed completely. Then plastic surgery could be taken into consideration. If there is a genetic deformity then likewise but it could be looked into earlier. If a person over 20 is overweight and wants surgery to get rid of the extra fat, that is the moment when a good surgeon will tell the person to first go on a strict diet and get rid of x amounts of pounds. It is easier to cut off the extra skin than to cut off the fat and flesh. But once the surgery is done that person can not gain weight ever again. So to answer your question in short, it depends on the case. Cheers.
  • Only the corrective kind.
  • Only if they could sew her mouth shut till she was 18!! Just kidding..but the thought has popped into my head before:)
  • I think it depends upon the plastic surgery. If it is to correct something like a scar or a misshaped ear then sure..if it is to get a boob job, then no
  • To correct a birth defect or disfigurement? You betcha! I would stop at nothing to make it right!!! For vanity reasons ? No fricken way in hell !!
  • Only if the surgery was needed to correct a major problem like a scar or something that would totally affect her ability to socialize...if it were only for cosmetic purposes then NO, she/he would be too young for decisions like that.
  • I think if it was to fix something like cleft palate or something they have from a disease or something they were born with such as missing something or scarring, if its able to be safe than yea. It it is health related and they are willing to live with it for the rest of their life than yea. If its something like a boob job than no. Teach them to love themselves for who they are and that they don't need to do anything to be beautiful other than be themselves and stay true to that. Teach them to look beyond what society or media says is pretty and superficial. Explain to them that boob jobs and stuff like that doesn't really change something that needed to be changed and that learning to love themselves while at times not easy , something that is a part of life and something every one has to deal with at some point.
  • it depends on how they feel about it.
  • im a teenager n hell no unless it is becuz of horrible circumstances like deformities n a burnt face! not if they think there ugly or something. no way. they shud accept who they r
  • im with the people who have said if it will help her. i understand having to go thru school where everyone gets picked on. now if she just has a HUGE nose then ok ill let her have that, but if she just wants bigger boobs then no. i had a friend who was born with a defect that she didnt find out until she started to develop. one of her breasts never formed. so spring break of her junior year she got an implant. it just depends on the situation.
  • NO! At least not for "I want to be pretty reasons." Personally I hated my boobs as a teen. But they kept growing and now I love them. I would not want them bigger. My sister hates her nose... but then again she suffers from depression typical of a teenager and hates everything...
  • Only for "medical" reasons.
  • it depends on how old there are alot of risk in plastic surgery for teenagers alot can go wrong so in the end its up to u i say learn alittle about the procedure and decide it helps
  • If there was a real deformity, yes. If he/she just didn't like their nose or breast size, no.
  • no frist i would wait till he or she get a little older.
  • No, I would not! +5
  • If it is something that is causing her to have such a bad life, becasue self image has alot to do with young girls bulemia, anorexia even suicide, I would try to help her out as much as I could. Even if plastic surgery is the only resort. Im talking about a horrible nose, extra skin on her forehead....something like that not just because she wants breast implants in that case she can get a job and do that herself.
  • I would find that insulting if my kid didn't like mom and dad's dna. It would also make me feel like a failure as a parent to raise an insecure and self conscious child..... I'm thinking plastic surgery not much needed reconstructive surgery or surgery for a defect that puts them at a disadvantage or overwhelming ridicule.
  • NO NEVER IN MY LIFE
  • i don't have a teenager, i am a teenager
  • If it were corrective....like a breast reduction, skin graphing, or something similar...Of course
  • i am a teenager, i would never think of getting anything for plastic surgery because at a young age you dont really know what you want just yet. I had to have plastic surgery to get my mole removd on my arm but thats different because i wanted it removed to make sure that it wasnt cancerous, but it was still a plastic sergon that i had to see so thats where like the boundrys are.
  • It would depend on the circumstances.
  • If she was horribly disfigured in an accident or something, yes. If it was cosmetic, no. She can wait til she's old enough to pay for it herself.
