  • When it the last time you cleaned the container and rocks? It its been a while it is possible that there is an infection or pest in the water and on the rocks. Try dumping out the old water, rinsing the roots and shoots under cool water for a while, the place in a glass with water while you clean the container with hot soapy water and rinse well and dry. Then boil the rocks for about 20 minutes let the pan cool naturally - during that have the bamboo in a glass of water. Once the rocks have been boiled and allowed to cool, rinse with cool water. reassemble the bamboo, rocks etc into the container and add water and see what happens. Bamboo has a finite life span. Part of the process of that life is to go from green shoots to brown adults - near the end of their life cycle they turn from green to yellow then they dry out (dead) becoming a light brownish/yellow. Usually bamboo sends out shoots, however so called 'lucky' bamboos is treated and or cut in such a manner that it prevents shoots from the roots. It is possible that these bamboo are reaching the end of their life cycle.
