so that we don't invalidate what the bible says and give preference to man made traditions. such was the case in the time jesus was on earth. the pharasees and scribes of the time gave more importance to their traditions than to what the inspired written word of God said. these individuals preferred to favor their oral traditions over the written law. jesus condemned them for that. today, this is also the case with many of the so called christian churches. most if not all of their beliefs are based not on what the written word of God says but on beliefs based on man made traditions.
