I don't think the whole dential hygien trend was very well developed in the first century A.D., so probably not.

not sure if he did, supposedly he was to have been very poor, but the jews were known to have been much more hygienic than other peoples of the time. though the romans were also known to be very hygienic as well. tooth brushes have been found at archaeological digs of the time period, but i don't know how common they were, i've never really looked into it that much ;)
