I have a 85 dodge 1500 pickup truck, it will start, but when i put it in gear it dies. I have replaced the ignition switch and the relay switch, but now i dont know what else to try.

does it instatly die or slowly? if it dies instantly it can be a short under the steering colum as you move the shifter it creates a short is it run in park good and does it rev up stepping on the gas if not then more likely fuel problem there again is several things that go wrong well ill check again to see what you write
