As it stands now, not in the larger sense, but maybe to Jack. It may adding to his guilt. Is it important to what's ultimately going on? I don't think so. It's more a sense of if he had known, he may have made more of an effort to watch out for her. The only way it could come into play in a more significant way is if Aaron's fate is somehow tied to saving those still on the island, and it's up to Jack to take Aaron back there. He still has some guilt when it comes to dealing with Aaron, so if this affects his action, which affect other lives, it could be important. But that's a long and complicated chain that needs to be linked up.

It's impossible to say but three things to consider - Jack is an incredibly important character to the show (as witnessed by his status as the "leader" of the castaways), and Claire obviously has an important role to play with what happened to her at the end of series 4.. and lets not forget that Christian Shepherd is their father, and he's obviously a huge character in the mythology of the show.

Add one more complication for everyone--how does Kate get custody of Aaron, and is that the only tie left betwwen Jack and Kate??
