Actually the best news site in the internet is the Drudge Report, www.drudgereport.com. As for cnn.com or foxnews.com, they are about equal.

Some sites have better qualities than others. They are equal. Say CNN has better sports coverage than FoxNews. But FoxNews might have better entertainment coverage than CNN. Assuming the choice is ONLY between Fox or CNN: Fox generally is a lot more subjective than CNN and openly pro-republican. The best way to get independent news however is to get it from multiple news sources, both on- and offline.

I like google news at http://news.google.com You can personalize it to see what kinds of news you want, and how many articles at once, and they cover the big news sites like msnbc, cnn, fox news, christian science monitor, bbc, reuiters, and the AP wires as well. It is very good for a large, diverse cross section of interesting articles and breaking news. There are also international versions for those of you who live outside the US so that you can get news that is more local to you, No matter where you live in the world.
