Top! That way, if the slats give out, you stand a chance of a soft landing! and who knows, you may make a friend!! Also, I don't want anyone being able to see my private possessions - I'd like to feel that I have some sense of privacy. I've suffered a very minor version of this - it must be very difficult for the forces to have to to this day after day.

The top, when you sleep on the bottom, the top persons dead skin cells fall on you.

Depends. I roll around a lot and also like to visit the bathroom during the night. I also get this sudden thirst for water. So if there is no ladder to climb down from the top bunk (which is usually the case) I'd prefer the lower bunk.

Top bunk. If on the lower bunk, what if the person above you wets the bed?

I've always preferred to be on top ;)

lower.......you have have a nightmare and fall out the bed your good...and also if an early morning drill happens or somebody attacks the barracks ...your the first one out....and also top bunk don't get to see when the bottom bunks are plotting on them to pull a joke!!!

top that way drunks can't pee on you and your also closer too the light and i like to read at night
