Yes, I get 40 hrs of sick time every year.

Yes. I get 80 hours of sick time a year. I don't use nearly that much, but it's there, thank goodness! I can use it for time I have to miss if my kids are sick too, and for doctor appointments for myself and my kids.

Actually I don't get that sick for me to take a sick leave. I do use my sick leaves for other purposes, like when I travel abroad. And yes, it's a paid sick leave.
