because evolution set things up that way - we wouldnt be here if someone didnt think it was important! guys are geared to reproduction, as there's little cost to them (no pregnancy), so they have to try as many times as possible, as often as possible, to have sex, in case they're rejected by women. if they're rejected too often (they're ugly? heh) or dont try often enough (too shy?) their genes wont be propagated, and so their genetically determined behaviour wont be appearing in the next generation, of course. after many generations, all you're left with are guys that want to have sex all the time! (ever watch male pigeons? constantly harassing the females. human males arent alone.)
