As you've got a lot of photographs, put them in sub-folders (i.e. a holiday folder, family folder etc) and burn a few at a time. You wouldn't be able to burn them all at the same time if there are loads as your CD can only hold so many. You should also think of backing up other important files/folders on your computer and do it on a regular basis.

There are many ways to backup, but I would recommend 2 of them: -Burn DVDs, which with a 4x unit is not as slow as people may think and you can burn batches of 4.5 Gb on each one (which for pictures is a lot). -Buy an External USB Hard Drive, which is very fast and for example a 250 Gb drive is now around $100. You will backup all in one step at USB 2.0 speed (not slow at all). The 2nd option is the best if you are thinking about saving time, and ease of use, because is like having another hard disk, but you can move to wherever you want.
