  • Listen to your mother, and don't say mean things about her. She is raising you, be nice to her.
  • Maybe you could have your teacher or someone from the school call her. Talk to her one-on-one and explain the importance of the assignment
  • Ask her to at least just attend the meeting with you before she decides what you do or don't need for your studies and homework. Hopefully, the information you both get tonight will convince her. If that does not, ask one of your teachers to speak with her privately.
  • I have middle school boys and communication is key. Explain to your mom WHY you NEED it and let her moniter your use if that is the issue. Trust builds when you do what you say and you can give her the chance to see that you're truthful. Next time she'll trust that you need it for homework and nothing else....assuming that is true.....lots of honesty and communication is this lesson.
  • The last comment first- that is HER house- she does not owe her son anything. The trust thing is important to me- she does not trust you for some reason. You put in your post why you need to take the laptop home- BUT you did not put that you said to your mother why you need to take it home. You call her ignorant- you are why she is ignorant by not explaining why. You were very good at explaining to us what was going on- try explaining things to your mother instead of only saying I want and I need and I -------
