It is possible, but it needs to be done with VBA code as a "module". I haven't done this in a few years, but if you are familiar with Visual Basic programming, you should pick it up relatively quickly. Most 3rd party MS-Access developer books have canned routines that you can use to open and read files, as well as write and save them to disk. I believe you can also find some of the routines in the old Northwind example database.
