  • I have the same name as about 37,000 other people. I hate it. I always have to act like it is the first time I heard some lame ass joke about it.
  • I have a very common name, It's fine with me.
  • I HATE my name. It's not completely unheard of, but it's pretty rare. I'd rather have a simple name like Leah or Kayla. Instead of the same name as Rocky Balboa's wife. ew.
  • I think I can help out with this one with views from both ends so to speak. I have a super common name; I Googled it and got "about 35,700,000" results. The only things that I have trouble with are places like the drug store, the insurance office etc. I don't really mind too much; it's funny sometimes. My wife, on the other hand, has a name that no one has heard of because her parents made it up. No one says it right and it just drives her nuts so, she started going by the nickname I gave her years ago.
  • I think it's worse to have a highly unusual or odd name. Rather than sounding unique or original, my name might be the laughing stock of the town, and I'd grow weary of it after awhile. To have a common name like millions of others blends you in so well with the crowd----however, that makes you work a little harder to earn a real name for yourself and be proud of your accomplishments, rather than just going by a name for yourself. Like the common house sparrow, once you get past its dull brown feathers and ordinary looks, you will discover a little bird full of fascinating habits and intriguing behavior!
  • Desota, thats my first name and i've never met anyone with the same name as me, i love it! I stand out, everyone remembers me, i dont just fade into the pile of Jakes and Marys, its a major booster of self-development as well, so i would have to say having the same name as a million other people.
  • You have no idea how temporarily embarassed I am when I am out shopping or elsewhere in public and someone with a reasonably familiar sounding voice calls "John" and I look, along with a few others I'm sure.
