mayhap I read a lot of "old English" text and this word pops up quite often. Unfortunately no one seems to know what it means besides me and they think that I'm making stuff up. I would love to use it, but I can't stand the weird questions about it, and how people seem to think that I'm snooty when I say it, lol.

There are many. I refuse to use racial/bigoted epithets unless I am discussing the theory of racism/bigotry. Even then I am uncomfortable saying them. That goes from the "n" word to my refusal to use the word "cracker" in any way other than something I put cheese on and eat. That applies for all racial and bigoted epithets.

Retarded...I just feel like it is a derogatory term and best not used.
