There is a "special" drug that you have to take. I am not sure what it's called but it is for people who have "sever" cases of Vitiligo. It doesn't make you skin "bright" white it makes it sort of a creamy color.African American people have problems when they get cosmetic surgery, the skin does not grow back in the same shade as it was. That is why Michael Jackson had to take that drug. This is a very strong drug and I doubt seriously that a Dermatologist would prescribe it to you! You also have to keep taking it and you have to stay completely out of the sun...that's the reason Michael Jaskson uses an umbrella! You would be more suseptable to skin cancer, since you would have no more melanine in you skin. I know this because I have a sever case of Vitiligo and I still am not going to take the drug to make my skin completely white...but if it's what you want...I wish you good luck. Michael Jackson does in fact have Vitiligo. I have an aunt who has it so I know what it looks like. The only reason his skin color looks uniform is because he's always wearing tons of makeup. If you see photos of him where he's performing and the stage lights have melted off makeup or where he forgets to powder some part of himself, you'll see the blotches clearly visible. I'm not saying he couldn't wear darker makeup, certainly that's an option for African Americans with Vitiligo. However, perhaps he has more white blotches than dark patches and it was just easier for him to do makeup. People with vitiligo have skin pigmentation that is allergic to sunlight, hence the odd behavior of Jacko holding umbrellas on sunny days or wearing hats, gloves, glasses, long pants and jackets, etc.

Michael Jackson uses a product for his skin condition that must be prescribed by a physician. Marilyn Manson uses stage make up to get the look he wears onstage. Vitiligo is an Auto Immune disease. Michael Jackson does not have true Vitiligo. He has had too many cosmetic surgeries and therefore has had to "depigment" himself. I am not sure if the drug that does this depigmenting needs to be taken on a regular basis or just one time. Also African Americans do not do well with facial cosmetic surgery. You can ask any good, honest cosmetic surgens and if they are a decent sort they will tell you the truth. There is NO reaction to the sun with Vitiligo. The cells that produce the melinin are either dorment or dead and do not produce a tan. People with Vitiligo burn like crazy at the least little bit of sun exposure. I have had Vitiligo all my life, it runs in the family and can be a side effect of Thyroid problems and Diabeaties. You can also have it from scars but it's not the same but the treatment is the same!Michael Jackaso also has no cartlidge left in his nose he has has so many surgeries. At one time he mentioned he was trying to look like his idol Kathrine Hepburn. He went over board with it. So he had no choice to have himself depigmented. So don't group people who truly suffer with Vitiligo with him. It's bad enough that there is no research done on it and no cures or any sort of help with it but to depigment and forget it. Doctors wont do anything to help, because there is nothing for them to do. I had a doctor that prescribed pills to make my skin sun sensitive so I had to tan daily...it made the Vitiligo worse. I get insults and nasty comments from adults and children. It also get pointed at so I have to keep myself completely covered all the time.It's no fun to have this condition and should never be made fun of but there are so many insensitive people in this world that will always make asses of themselves. Please be a little more snesitive to others with problems, it's not their fault and every one needs to know what they are talking about before they write about it. So do some research on the subject.
